I-171H

We drove to Charlotte late yesterday. We have some friends there that we haven't seen in a while so we made arrangements to stay with them. Thanks Lanny & Jaime. It was great.

We arrived around 7:00pm and went out to eat at Carrabba's and then drove to Krispy Kreme for some dessert. As soon as we walked in the door this wonderful lady asked us if we'd each like a free doughnut to sample. She grabbed them right off the little conveyor belt. They were awesome. Perhaps the best doughnuts I've ever had. So we bought 2 dozen! Then we went back to their place and ate a bunch of doughnuts. As soon as we had a major sugar high, we fired up the PlayStation2. I like SSX the best. It's a snowboarding game. Awesome!

Oh yeah, Naomi did the sworn statement thing and we received our I-171H.

YAY!!! Congrats on having your I-171H in hand -- one more thing to check off the list!

I just found your blog last week and think I'm finally caught up. I look forward to following your progress and learning more about the process. A China adoption is DEFINITELY in the cards for us, but not for a few years yet, so of course I'm starting NOW to make myself as crazy as I can waiting for the process to start LOL!

Hi Jenn - I think it's great that you are getting involved early and starting to learn the process before you begin. For us, it all happened so fast that we basically had to learn along the way.

Hi Tamra - Thanks!!!

Congratulations! You will, soon, be joining all of us "waiting families"!! You know...hurry up and wait!!!

Hi Kim - you know "hurry up & wait" sounds just fine. I just want to get this paper-chasing behind us! Can't wait until the day we can post our DTC date!

Hey, what is LID?

Posted by: :: Mark :: at April 7, 2004 07:22 AM

I think that's "logged in date" -- right?

Posted by: Jenn at April 7, 2004 10:34 AM

"LID" does stand for "log-in date". After your dossier is sent to China, it takes the CCAA (China Center of Adoption Affairs) between one and four weeks to log it in. And, actually, your official wait does not begin until this date!It is just one more thing to stress about after you think the worrying over your dossier is finished! Best of luck with yor remaining certifications/authentications....

Hello, How long was the wait for the 171H approval letter?
