Everything's Certified!

We had an appointment today at noon at the Secretary of States office to get everything certified. Then, we stopped by the post office and over-nighted everything to a courier service who will take it to the State Dept and then the to Chinese Embassy in DC!

The courier service is called The Assistant Stork. You should check them out. To me, the extra charge is worth it. Normally you would have to mail your paperwork back and forth twice from you to the State Dept, and then you to the Embassy. With the courier, you send it to them and they take it to the State Dept, then they take it to the Embassy, then they send it back to you. I like that much better! Plus, they hand deliver it to the right person. And they do this every day. So they know how to get it done!

Yay YAY YAAAYYYY!!! And how nice to know that your now-certified paperwork will be hand-delivered to the right person. That must be a HUGE relief.

Well Mark and Naomi! That is great! Looks real good for you to be May DTC. Come on over and join us in the Yahoo Mat DTC group. My dossier is in translation at CCAI this week and then off it goes to China.....after all these months we kept in touch, it looks like we will both be May DTC and possibly meet in our travels to China. How neat!

Thanks everyone! I can't believe how close we are. I'm trying not to get too excited. I don't want to celebrate until we get our DTC date and our LID. But when we do... there's going to be a party at the Adoption Blog!

Joette - that would be so awesome! I've really appreciated all the emails over the past six months. It was great to compare notes with someone who was going through the same stages of the process. And with the same agency! And if we get to travel to China together that would be incredible!

We are just now starting the paper chase, and after I've been on the phone all morning with a gazillion governement offices....we are so using the Assisstant Stork for my birth certificate. Just one document, but it will be worth it.

Congratulations on working your way to the end of the paperchase. Can't wait to hear that your dossier is on its way to China.
