Has anyone else had trouble gathering the required photos? Ugh... what a pain. The hardest part is finding photos with both Naomi and I in them. Usually, one of us is taking the picture.
We finally got all of our pictures together. But this caught us off guard. I'd recommend not waiting until the last minute to work on this part of your dossier.
Posted by Mark at May 1, 2004 10:51 AMI agree with you, Mark! We started all the way back in November to get our photos. Try getting them with kids, too. We took advantage of the holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and my brother's wedding) to get photos with grandmas/grandpas, great-grandma and great-grandpa, etc.
I think my family is sick of me asking, "hey, could you take a picture of us.....make it good.....from the waist-up......"
Another part of this whole process that brings a smile to my face.
When do you expect your authenticated docs back?
Joette
p.s. I still haven't received any info from CCAI on if my dossier was sent or not to China. Sept., 2003 referrals just arrived, so I expect they are busy with those.
Hi Joette,
Our friends and family definitely got used to us bringing our camera everywhere! We sure appreciate them being understanding.
As far as our Authenticated Docs go, it should be early next week. Then I'll immediately overnight them to CCAI.
Have you called CCAI? I'd launch a call into them asap! Did they indicate how long it would take?

I received a call on 4/26/04. It was a message left on my phone stating that my dossier had been critically read and it looked great. It would now be in translation for 1-1.5 weeks, then will be mailed to China. They stated that I should receive an e-mail as the next form of communication telling me when my dossier was sent.
So, it will be 1 week on Monday. Do you think I should call?????
Joette
I guess I wouldn't call yet. Not if they said 1 to 1.5 weeks. You'll probably get an email by the middle of next week! How cool with that be!!!
I just hope we get our docs back and off to CCAI in time for them to approve them and send them to China so we can be in your group!
Posted by: :: Mark :: at May 2, 2004 12:22 AMAssuming your dossier is sent to China by the middle of next week, how long did it take from the time you sent it to CCAI?
Posted by: :: Mark :: at May 2, 2004 12:24 AMThey received my dossier on 4/15/04. I was hoping for April DTC, but May is fine, too. They did call that day and left a message that they had received it and gave further instructions on about how long it would take to critically read it, translate it, then send it off. They also have a "parent access" page I keep checking for updates.
Their estimate of how long it would take seems longer than what they are actually doing.
I will keep you posted when I hear from them.
Joette
Sounds like we have a good shot at being part of the May DTC group. That's assuming there are no errors or issues, etc...
Do you know if the CCAI groups that travel to China together are based on the DTC or the LID date?
Posted by: :: Mark :: at May 2, 2004 05:18 PMMark-
This is a guess based on posts I have read on all the different boards (CCAI, A-P-C, etc.). Because CCAI translates the documents before sending them, the DTC and LID dates seem to be within 4 days of each other. So, unless your docs are totally sitting on the fence (mailed to China 4/28, for example), I think the DTC/LID date should be in the same month. Does any of that make sense???
Joette
I agree, pictures are a pain! All along I thought we were supposed to have a family pic but found out later it was supposed to be a couple! We had a friend snap some photos but only one turned out nice so we had to make a bunch of copies. *sigh* so glad that part is over!
Posted by: ModernMother Tamra at May 3, 2004 03:06 AMThe pictures were kind of a pain! We couldn't find hardly any of us without sunglasses and tanktops (we take lots of family photos at Lake Powell each summer). So, we spent a couple of evenings going to visit family and friends here in town and posing for pictures. (We even brought changes of clothes to make it look like they all weren't taken within two days of eachother!) We ended up with plenty of good pics to send in with our dossier - so I guess it was worth the work! (Though my husband and kids were really tired of looking at the camera!!)
Congrats on getting close to DTC!!! Are you keeping up with these referrals coming in? The last batch was September and half of October!!! That is 6-7 months! I am loving that news!!!

I received an e-mail from CCAI today. Dossier left for China today!!! YEA!!!
Joette
Wow!!! That's awesome! So does that mean your DTC is 05.04.2004?
Congratulations! Congratulations! Congratulations! Congratulations! Congratulations! Congratulations! Congratulations! Congratulations! Congratulations! Congratulations! Congratulations! Congratulations!
