Immunizations!

We've got an appointment today with our doctor to talk about immunizations!

Update: It looks like we'll need to get the following...

- Flu Shot (we get these each year anyway)
- Adult Polio
- Hepatitis A (2 shots - 1 now, and 1 in six months)
- Hepatitis B (3 shots - 1 now, 1 in one month, and 1 in six months)
- MMR (measles/mumps/rubella - For me only. Naomi has hers)

We're trying to determine if any of this will be covered by our health insurance. If not, we're probably looking at somewhere between $600 and $800 for both of us.

If your shots are not covered by your health insurance (most of the time they are not, for international travel) then go to your county health dept. They cost MUCH LESS there, than your doctors's office.....that's what we did.

By the way, we finally received our referral of a 9 month old baby girl in the Sichuan province!!!! We are very excited!!!!

Hi!

Great site, and congrats on DTC! My husband and I are paperchasing, and just wrapping up our homestudy.

Get thee to the nearest county health department for those shots. We were lucky enough to have ours covered by our insurance, but when we checked, the health dept. wanted $30/each.

One last word of advice - get the shots in your less-used arm if you can. I got four on one day - two in each arm - and I was sore for close to a week. YEOUCH!

Take care,
