How to Prepare for the Baby

We just started to get the baby's room together. And we're starting to buy a few things that we think we'll need. We're looking for suggestions. Does anyone have any advice on what we should buy?

+ Do we need a diaper genie?
+ Should we get a changing table or just the changing pads?
+ What about crib pads?
+ Glider?
+ Bouncer?

Any thoughts? Recommendations? What else do we need?

Adoption - Small Group Meeting

At our church, we have an adoption small group that meets once a month. It's sort of a support group for those going through adoption. And it's an informational group for those considering adoption.

Last night we met and one of the families showed their home video of their journey to China. It was GREAT! We got to see some of the sites, the hotels they stayed in, and the offices where they did their paper work. But the most exciting part was watching them when they received their baby. That was awesome!

We're still a few months away from traveling to China but we're starting to get excited!

Ouch!

Noami and I got our immunization shots today! We both got TwinRix which is a combination of Hep A and Hep B together. We also got an Adult Polio shot. And I got an MMR.

We need to go back in 30 days and get another TwinRix. And then again in six months.

We decided to go to the county health department instead of having them done at our doctors office because it was a bit cheaper. The total cost for the shots today was $315. The TwinRix shot costs $70 each so we still have another $280 to pay because we need two more shots each.

We're going to talk to our adoption agency and our doctor about malaria and typhoid.
